Jurassic Park's tiny, venomous carnivorous dinosaur gets a MiniCo statue from Iron Studios!
Hidden in the foliage amidst the vegetation of Isla Nublar, its whistles, howls and growls draw attention to its presence. Occasionally peeking out from behind a tree, playing or showing curiosity while trying to stay hidden, the small dinosaur showed no fear when faced with the large man in a yellow jacket, who tried to fend it off by playfully underestimating its size, throwing it a wooden stick to fetch like a dog. The dinosaur showed little care for the thrown object and chose to observe the actions of Dennis Nedry, who was still mocking the creature's intelligence, until the computer programmer saw it expand and shake its hidden frills and felt the paralyzing effects of the tar poison it spat, and realized that not only large dinosaurs are dangerous. On a base with many references, such as the East Dock sign and the fake shaving cream can covered in mud at its feet, Iron Studios presents the statue "Dilophosaurus - Jurassic Park - MiniCo", the peculiar green dinosaur with dark spots and yellow-orange frills, which debuted alone in Jurassic Park (1993), but in the sequel was presented hunting in a pack. Dennis Nedry, head of the entire security system of Jurassic Park, accepted a bribe of 1.5 million dollars to steal the dinosaur embryos of InGen. To do so, he deactivated almost all the security of the park by cutting the power supply and hid 15 species in a fake shaving cream can designed to preserve them for 36 hours. Nedry anticipated his plan, leaving the Visitors' Center to deliver the stolen embryos to his contact at the East Dock, who was about to leave on a ship but, caught in a storm, loses control of his vehicle and crashes near his target, where he encounters a small carnivore and discovers that it was not as harmless as he initially thought.
Already available for pre-order, the Dilophosaurus MiniCo was revealed on Thursday, November 30, 2023, during the Ultra Stage panel at CCXP 2023, and later displayed alongside other MiniCo Jurassic Park statues, marking the return of beloved dinosaurs to Iron Studios’ previously hugely successful MiniCo line, now back for fans and collectors. Revealed in detail during Inside Iron Studios Day in March, check out the T-Rex 30th Anniversary MiniCo Statue in two versions, Deluxe and Regular, scheduled for release in Q1 2024.
