TO THE BATCAVE! These three words evoke one of the most memorable interiors in pop culture. Batman’s sanctuary, his base of operations, the nerve center of his activities: a mysterious underground lair that is both forbidding and thrilling. The Batcave has seen many iterations over the years, both in print and on screen. One of the most enduring and iconic was the version featured in the classic 1966 Batman TV series. As kids, the team at Factory Entertainment were among the millions of fans who dreamed of visiting the classic TV series Batcave (who wouldn’t?). Alas, that dream never came true, but our fascination with the Batcave never faded. Now, we’re finally proud to offer our fellow Bat-fans the opportunity to own a scale version of our favorite place. We hope you enjoy owning your own Batcave as much as we enjoyed creating it. In practical terms, there was no Batcave set. Rather, it was a series of ever-evolving sets that would physically transform from scene to scene and season to season. It was a "live" set that evolved on a regular basis. Due to the many variations in the Batcave seen on screen, our model does not attempt to replicate a particular layout from any given episode or specific scene. Rather, it replicates the "feel" of the Batcave set as commonly seen. The inclusion of movable elements allows the look of the cave to be customized around a central group of fixed parts, including the prominent "atomic stack," presented in their most common positions. The classic Batman TV series, the Batcave, was a riot of color, with a typically 60s godless vibe. Each model contains more than 16 different LED lights, in a variety of hues, both fixed and animated, that bring the Batcave to life, including: - Hidden floor lights, to emulate the large colored gel lights that were used on set. - A pulsating color-changing effect inside the Atomic Nucleus. - Flashing lights on selected monitors and screens. The model is powered by 6 AAA batteries and the lights are independently controlled by two separate circuits with on/off switches. The product has been meticulously hand painted with carefully researched, period-correct colors and includes scale replicas of key signage and graphics. This model is not a static piece; it features a number of moving parts including: - A turntable that can be rotated manually. - Selected movable furniture that allows you to dress up the set however you like. - A faux rock door panel in the entrance tunnel that can be removed to allow access to the Batmobile. (Batmobile model not included) The model measures a whopping 18" x 14" x 9" (45cm x 35cm x 22cm) and weighs over 20 pounds. It comes in a collector's box and includes a combination booklet and certificate of authenticity that tells the story of the original set and the replica.
