This is a feat brought to life through careful consideration of the details found in Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. With the world's first and only license granted for this classic after a five-year journey, the team wanted to do right by the fans. We worked closely with the respected Japanese illustrator to create a Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust statue of this caliber, and the design was personally approved by Amano-san. Set during the iconic graveyard scene, this statue immerses you in the dark, swampy setting of D's first encounter with the Marcus brothers. This version of D is closely modeled after Yoshitaka Amano's illustrations from the Vampire Hunter D novels. This influence is palpable in the statue's ornate touches. D sits astride his rearing cybernetic horse with his crescent-shaped longsword and sentient symbiote left hand. The snarling fangs of his fierce expression are surrounded by flowing dark hair, and his head is topped by a pointed hat with the most intricate gothic details. The gleaming die-cast metal of D's longsword and the passionate expression of his left hand are indistinguishable from the film. D's armor is an inky black highlighted with fine gold embellishments reminiscent of Amano's work, and the long fall of his dark cape curves near the base. Every panel and shaggy fiber of the cybernetic horse can be spotted as it rears on its hind legs, poised in motion above the graveyard markers. Mechanical hooves appear to drip moisture from the angled base below, which features a patch of rock and twisted branches jutting out of a rippling pool of water. Three red-eyed demons reach out from the dark depths toward the majestic frame of D and his horse, poised in battle.
