DarkSide Collectibles Studio proudly presents the second statue in the Morgoth Collection, the Azog the Defiler Signature Edition by John Howe.
The giant, pale Gundabad Orc is the best-known orc in the Hobbit trilogy. Azog ruled the northern orc tribes with will and strength for many decades, leading them to victory in battles against their hated enemies, the Dwarves of Durin's line.
Standing triumphant at a magnificent height of 68 cm (26.7 in), Azog is posed based on the iconic scene of the Battle of Azanulbizar outside the East Gate of Moria standing over the defeated body of King Thror, holding the knife in his left arm and the beheaded King Thror in his right.
Fully sculpted, Azog and Thror's costumes have been developed with high precision and astonishing detail.
The Azog statue is breathtaking to look at, filled with intricate detail—it has to be seen up close to be believed! Crafted from polystone, the extraordinary craftsmen at Darkside Collectibles Studio have captured all the distinctive elements of both characters. On Azog, the leather faces in his skirt are crying out to come out, and the life-like skin details with his distinctive scars are extraordinarily detailed. The detail on his weapons is unparalleled, and the likeness between Azog and Thror is impeccable.
Thror's body and head armor have been recreated from the studio's original archives in astonishing detail. Even though Thror is defeated, stains of orc blood mark his weapons and armor, indicating the countless orcs who fell from his blade. Thror's detailed sword and shield accompany this masterpiece.
The statue comes with two Thror heads, a clean version for a milder look closer to Tolkien's philosophy and a Gore version for a more realistic look of the brutality of battle.
A hand-signed art print by Mr John Howe completes the stunning presentation.
Don't miss the definitive Azog statue. This is a must-have for all Middle-earth fans.
The Signature Edition series will be produced in limited numbers.
