Scattered across the grassy hills of Hobbiton like a bag full of lost coins, the round doors of many dozens of hobbit-holes glow with brilliant summer hues, each home to a hobbit or a family of little folk.
As diverse as the rosy-cheeked hobbits themselves, each smial, as hobbit holes are known, reflects the unique personality of its inhabitant and nestles into the hillside amidst a sea of lush vegetation.
Ripe red apples hang thickly in the branches of the trees at number 13, framing the beautiful lemon-yellow door of the house of Bilbo and Frodo's cousins, the Sackville-Bagginses. Yet, despite all the charm and generosity of their home, Lobelia and the sour-faced Otho have eyes only for Bag End and peer enviously out the window at the hill.
