    Product description

Narsil™/Anduril™ are perhaps the most famous swords in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. At the end of the second age of Middle-earth, Narsil's blade was shattered when Elendil fell during the Last Alliance between Elves and Men in the great battle against Sauron, creating the Shards of Narsil™. Isildur, Elendil's son, then used Narsil's broken hilt to cut the One Ring from Sauron's finger, severing the bonds of his power and banishing his evil shadow into darkness. The Shards were kept safe in Rivendell, the home of Elrond. Legend said that one day the sword would be reforged and the king would return. In New Line Cinema's The Return of the King, Anduril™ was reforged from the Shards of Narsil™ for Aragorn by the Elven smiths of Rivendell. Elrond said of the legendary blade: "The man who can wield the power of this sword can summon to himself an army more deadly than any that walk this land." The inscription along the length of the blade on both sides is in Tolkien's Quenya, written in the runes of Eregion, which read: N‡ny' Andoeril i nŽ Narsil i macil Elendilo. Lercuvanten im‡li Mord-r'o. This translates to: I am Andoeril who was Narsil, the sword of Elendil. Let the slaves of Mordor flee from me. The inscription on the blade features runes framed by stylized symbols of the Sun and Moon, representing An‡rion and Isildur, Elendil's sons, and seven symbolic stars representing Elendil, who died wielding Narsil™ in battle against Sauron. The pommel features runes in the Elven language of Sindarin that read Narsil essenya, macil meletya; Telchar carneron Navarotesse. This translates to Narsil is my name, a mighty sword; Telchar created me in Nogrod. Includes a parchment certificate of authenticity. Total Length: 52-7/8 inches Blade length: 40-5/8 Blade Thickness: 1/4 inch Blade material: tempered 420 J2 stainless steel, false edge. Inscribed with runes. Handle: Solid metal crossguard and pommel with an antique silver-plated finish and 24-karat gold-plated fittings. The pommel is engraved with runes, and the grip is wrapped in genuine leather.
