Isla Nublar was a remote island located 120 miles west of Costa Rica and 87 miles east of the Muertes Archipelago. The island covered 77 square kilometers and was characterized by mountain ridges that created various ecological niches.
In the 1980s, after John Hammond abandoned the idea of a smaller Jurassic Park in San Diego, his company, InGen, sought a larger, more isolated reserve. In 1987, the last remaining descendants of the Bribri tribe moved to Isla Nublar. That same year, Costa Rica agreed to lease both Isla Nublar and the Muertes Archipelago to InGen for 99 years. The lease was later inherited by Masrani Global Corporation. Construction of Jurassic Park subsequently began.
The island was supposed to house Jurassic Park, a tourist attraction featuring living dinosaurs cloned from prehistoric DNA. However, the park was abandoned before it could be opened to the public due to multiple containment breaches in 1993.
Elite Creature Collectibles is proud to present a scaled-down 3D art display of Isla Nublar, showcasing all the key Jurassic Park locations, including Mount Sibo and the active dinosaur tracking map.
