The 20th anniversary of the Lord of the Rings films has a special meaning for us here at the Workshop, and we are delighted to commemorate the upcoming event with a brand new set of iconic Middle-earth characters. Let the celebrations begin! With the loss of Gandalf and the breakup of the Fellowship, many would be forgiven for despair, but not Aragorn. Many would call it a foolish undertaking, pursuing the roving band of elite Uruk-hai to rescue Merry and Pippin, but not Aragorn. Brave, tenacious and kind-hearted, Aragorn has once again demonstrated the value and strength of his character. Strengthening his position as a defender of peace in Middle-earth. "As Frodo and Sam slowly make their way toward Mordor through the labyrinthine Emyn Muil, Merry and Pippin are held captive by the brutal Uruk-hai. Kidnapped during the raid on Amon Hen, the Hobbits are slung like baggage on the broad backs of the tireless Uruks, who race day and night across the broken hills and rolling plains of Rohan. Faced with the choice of whom to follow, Aragorn chooses to leave the Ring of Power in Frodo's hands; vowing instead to pursue Merry and Pippin's captors and save the Hobbits if possible. With him go Gimli and Legolas: Man, Dwarf and Elf. Three kindreds united in purpose; three hunters, whose hunt across the plains would become the stuff of legend and song for years to come. Barely breathing as he pounds a relentless rhythm across the plains, Aragorn leads his friends through rock and grass, crushed by iron-shod boots, determined to pursue their prey. Yet the chase drags on; where Orcs would usually seek shelter from the sun, they run fearlessly under the open sky, driven by an unseen force... for great powers have begun to stir in Middle-earth.
