The Key to Erebor was designed by Concept Art Director John Howe and created for the film by artists at 3 Foot 7 Art Department in Wellington, New Zealand.
This prop replica was cast from molds of the original prop taken directly from the 3 Foot 7 Art Department. It is made of metal (zinc alloy) and comes on a polyurethane stand.
Large and heavy, it's the kind of key you know could unlock something important. Like the back door to a lost dwarven kingdom.
