Scattered across the grassy hills of Hobbiton like a bag full of lost coins, the round, bright doors of dozens of Hobbit holes glow in bright summer hues, each home to a Hobbit or family of small beings.
As diverse as the rosy-cheeked Hobbits themselves, each smial, as the Hobbit holes are called, reflects the unique personality of its inhabitant and nestles into the hillside amidst a sea of lush vegetation.
Dominated by the splendid Bag End, Bagshot Row is dotted with a handful of more modest homes, adorned with flower garlands and painted doors.
Next to Bilbo Baggins on the left is the warm red door of number 40 Bagshot Row, a modest Hobbit house compared to Bag End, modestly decorated with small white flowers and a stone porch. Well-kept in true Hobbit style, it overlooks the Party Field and Party Tree and is the second home in a series of collectible Hobbit Hole environments by Weta artists.
Each an individual dwelling, Hobbit Holes lend themselves beautifully to creative placement in your cupboard. With a flat back and a shallow depth of just 55mm, they can be placed on mantelpieces, cornices, mantelpieces and in windows.
This beautiful little environment is an exact miniature replica of the movie set that can be visited at Hobbiton in Matamata, New Zealand. It was created by the same artists and craftsmen who worked on the movie.
40 Bagshot Row was sculpted by David Tremont and Leonard Ellis.
Dimensions: 6 x 12 x 6 cm
