After the destruction of his old ship, the Razor Crest, Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, also known as Mando, travels to the planet Tatooine after being approached by mechanic Peli Motto for a replacement starship. Arriving at the desert planet's Mos Eisley spaceport, Motto presents a modified N-1 starfighter, created on the planet Naboo, the N-1 starfighter is a sleek, single-seater starship with room for an astromech droid to mount on top of the ship. Initially reluctant to purchase it, Mando agrees to help Motto rebuild it, with the help of droids and parts provided by two native Jawas. Including many custom modifications designed to improve the ship's speed and maneuverability, after reaching breakneck speeds on its first test flight, Mando began to appreciate his new starfighter, experiencing new adventures with his protégé Grogu, an alien of the same race as Master Yoda, but still a child, with whom Mando created paternal bonds.
