"It's an extraordinary piece of bioelectrical engineering..." Geordi La Forge The visor (an acronym for visual instrument and sensory organ replacement) was a medical prosthesis used by the Federation to assist with blindness and visual impairment. It gave users visual acuity far beyond typical human capabilities, in other spectrums including infrared and ultraviolet. The Visor, as seen in The Star Trek: The Next Generation TV series and the 1994 film, Star Trek: Generations, was worn by Helmsman and later Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge, played by Levar Burton. Multiple props were produced, with various revisions and design changes made over its long tenure. No single prop existed. Factory Entertainment's proposed visor replica was created after careful study of Paramount's archive resources, as well as authenticated props from private collections. The replica aims to capture all the visor props as they appeared in seasons 2 through 5 of Star Trek: The Next Generation, in a single composite execution. The replica's frame is cast from an aluminum alloy, while the rods and wire links are made of brass. It also features magnetic red neural output pods with accurate red prismatic ribbon displays, with two options: protruding or recessed, as shown on the display in different iterations of the propeller. Each replica includes a museum-style acrylic display case, a sequentially numbered metal plaque, and a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) booklet. Limited to 500 pieces. Size: 20 x 25 x 25 cm
