Mazinger Z, the first and iconic Japanese super robot manga that has captivated audiences around the world for over five decades. Created by manga legend Go Nagai in 1972, this groundbreaking series introduced the world to a new kind of hero: a giant piloted robot with the power to save the world. Today, Mazinger Z remains as popular as ever, as we celebrate its 50th anniversary with a redesign by the one and only Josh Nizzi, who brings us another dark, gritty, and sinister robot sensation. This Ultimate Diorama Masterline series brings to life a victorious 27-inch Mazinger Z, standing over the corpse of his very first manga foe, Garada K7. Japan's first super robot rests his right arm on his sword, while his left hand pulls his head from his enemy's torso. The defeated Garada K7 desperately tries to pull back with his left hand what remains of the mechanical wires that prevent his head from being completely detached from his body. Like our other collaborations with Josh Nizzi, the artists at Prime 1 have paid close attention to detail and used their expertise to give Mazinger Z an intricate and realistic look. Every mechanical part and wire contributes to the intricacy of the piece. The dark and metallic colors come together beautifully, sure to make every inch of the statue mind-blowing. LED light-up functions are located on the heroic robot's head, chest fire on the villain's chest, and eyes. The chest plate can also be closed in case you want to turn off the chest fire LEDs. The Deluxe version gives you more storytelling options, allowing you to swap out the right arm for Mazinger's Rocket Punch arm, which has also been outfitted with LEDs as the arm charges up for explosion. We've also included an impressive pair of metallic crimson wings that add a full decimeter of width to the statue. This 50th anniversary statue is a testament to the series' enduring popularity and influence. It celebrates the impact the series has had on Japanese pop culture and the mecha genre.
