The hilt was crafted with a raised center section of three bronze rings. A wide fuller groove runs along three-quarters of the blade to reduce weight while maintaining the blade's critical strength. This type of fuller was common among royal swords of the Rohirrim. Against her uncle's wishes, Eowyn, in disguise, rode with the Rohirrim to the Pelennor Fields, accompanied by the hobbit Merry, to defend their fallen king. Eowyn achieved true heroism by slaying the Witch-king™ and his steed, but she also suffered a grievous injury during the crusade. After being healed by King Elessar, Eowyn finally abandoned her passion for the grandeur of the battlefield and found true love in the arms of Faramir.
