During the production of The Lord of the Rings, Weta Workshop was tasked with helping lay the foundation for how Middle-earth appeared on screen. From the grandest towers to the smallest Hobbit holes, countless sketches were created detailing every aspect, and while not every concept made it to the big screen, each piece played an important role in exploring its world. For the first time, Weta Workshop is proud to have the opportunity to bring to life a piece of Middle Earth that until now only existed on paper: the key to the end of the bag. It takes hundreds of hours to design, sculpt the model, mold, and prototype each new piece of land. Whether it's a prop replica, a beautiful environment, or an iconic character, we treat our collectibles with the same level of care and attention to detail we bring to our film work.
