Originally published from December 1992 to October 1993, much more than a crossover with the comics, The Death of Superman has become a milestone in the history of the character, with facts and changes that still resonate today. Divided into three story arcs, the first tells the story of Superman's fight against the monster that ends with his apparent death. The story has been adapted into many media formats, including books, a video game, two animated film adaptations (2007 and 2018), as well as inspiring the scripts of TV shows such as Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Smallville and the films Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Created in 1938 by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel and considered by many to be the first superhero, Superman is Kal-El, the last son of the planet Krypton. Sent to Earth as a baby, he was found by a couple of farmers who raised him and, as an adult, he took on the identity of journalist Clark Kent. Thanks to the radiation of the Earth's solar system, he developed incredible superpowers and became the world's greatest hero. Doomsday was artificially created in the distant past on Krypton, by a geneticist named Bertron. Wanting to create the ultimate life form, he and his team sent a child to the planet's surface, where he was instantly killed by the harsh environment and cruel predators. After each time, the remains were collected and reused in a cloning method to accelerate his evolution. After decades of forced endure the agony thousands of times; his uncontrollable deaths were recorded in his genes and caused him to hate all life. Doomsday gained the ability to evolve without the aid of Bertron's technology and began hunting down and killing all the deadly creatures that inhabited Krypton. When he saw Bertron, Doomsday deemed him and his team a threat due to their role in many of the deaths, and attacked the ship they were working on, and all died at the hands of their creation. Produced with art and concept developed by Ivan Reis, the official DC Comics illustrator of Chiaroscuro Studios, this is one of the most appreciated statues ever made by Iron Studios, originally produced in a limited edition in the Battle Diorama 1/6 line in 2016, now fans and collectors will receive this version in the Art Scale 1/10 line with only 750 numbered statues worldwide.
