Factory Entertainment has announced the latest offering in its acclaimed line of movie prop replicas: a limited-edition, screen-accurate, light-and-sound Black Manta helmet from the fan-favorite DCEU/Warner Bros. film, Aquaman. "I WILL SHOW YOU THE SAME MERCY YOU SHOWED MY FATHER AND I WILL PEEL YOU LIKE THE FISH YOU ARE!" - BLACK MANTA In the film Aquaman, the character David Kane (played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) charts a course of revenge after framing the Atlantean hero, Aquaman, for the death of his father, Jesse Kane. Using his technical expertise, combined with Atlantean technology, David creates an advanced battle suit and helmet, aiming to exact revenge against a formidable adversary. "Black Manta" is born. The original prop The Black Manta suit was a combination of physical props and computer-generated effects (CGI). Its striking design, while frightening in appearance, presented some physical challenges for the cast and crew, namely limited visibility and movement. For much of the on-screen time, the helmet was entirely CGI, and when physical helmets were used, they were augmented with CGI in post-production. The replica Factory Entertainment commissioned the prop house that created the original physical prop to make an additional original helmet specifically for this project. That first-generation original was used to create molds and models for the production of the prop replica, ensuring maximum accuracy. Each replica is crafted from durable, heavy-duty fiberglass and accented with ABS plastic, metal, and polyresin parts. LED lighting and digital sound effects from the movie have been incorporated into the replica to simulate the effects seen in the movie. Each numbered, limited-edition, museum-quality replica comes with a custom display stand incorporating helmet lighting controls, an AC power supply, an individual metal plaque, and a certificate of authenticity.
